Tests conducted on drinking water samples collected from 48 locations across Chennai have revealed the presence of E. coli bacteria in 46 areas. The findings have caused significant public concern regarding the safety of the city's water supply.
During a Chennai Corporation council meeting, DMK member Raju presented evidence and alleged that the water supplied by the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board is substandard. In response to the allegations, the Chennai Corporation Commissioner announced that the water samples will undergo further testing.
