Emergency services, including fire tenders and disaster response teams, are currently conducting rescue operations to locate several individuals feared trapped under the debris. While official reports on the number of survivors vary, local authorities confirmed that at least two to six people have been rescued so far.
Eyewitnesses reported that the building, known as 'Hostel Daze,' was heavily occupied by students at the time of the incident. Local residents and emergency personnel are working to clear concrete slabs and girders to reach those still inside. An adjacent building has been evacuated as a precautionary measure while heavy machinery is deployed to assist in the ongoing search.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu have directed all agencies to coordinate swift rescue efforts. Meanwhile, political leaders have expressed concern over the incident, with local officials monitoring the situation closely to ensure immediate assistance is provided to the affected families.
