The AIADMK has officially announced its candidates for the upcoming by-elections in the Madurantakam and Dharapuram assembly constituencies. The party's general secretary, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, confirmed the selections following a review by the party's parliamentary board.
Kanitha Sampath, a former MLA and member of the party's executive committee, has been named as the candidate for the Madurantakam (Reserved) constituency. K. Bhanumathi, the joint secretary of the Tiruppur Suburban District Women's Wing, will contest from the Dharapuram (Reserved) constituency.
The by-elections for these two seats are scheduled to take place on October 6, 2026.
