During a campaign rally in Dharapuram supporting DMK candidate S. Suganya, Leader of the Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin launched a sharp critique of Chief Minister Vijay and the TVK party. Udhayanidhi alleged that the Chief Minister is deeply apprehensive about the DMK, citing a recent campaign appearance in Madurantakam where, according to Udhayanidhi, "In a 30-minute speech, Chief Minister Vijay mentioned 'DMK' 32 times. That is the extent of his fear of the DMK."
Udhayanidhi further alleged that the current administration has been actively poaching opposition legislators. He claimed that seven AIADMK MLAs had been induced to switch parties through financial incentives, resigning their seats within ten days of taking office. He warned voters that re-electing these individuals would be futile, as they would not represent the public interest.
Addressing the performance of the current government, Udhayanidhi stated, "Since the TVK government came to power, they file cases against DMK MLAs, while they offer boxes to AIADMK MLAs." He characterized the current political climate as a choice between "power cuts and violence," asserting that the ruling party has failed to fulfill its campaign promises.
Regarding the electoral choices in the by-election, Udhayanidhi cautioned voters against supporting the TVK candidate, suggesting that such a vote would result in a representative who merely "sings songs or makes reels" in the assembly. He also criticized the AIADMK candidate, warning that they would likely switch parties after the election. He urged the electorate to support the DMK candidate S. Suganya, describing her as a well-educated individual capable of effectively advocating for the constituency in the legislative assembly.
