Heavy rainfall across Kerala has triggered flash floods and landslides, resulting in eight deaths and leaving eight people missing. The severe weather has destroyed 27 homes and caused damage to an additional 196 houses. In response to the crisis, the government has postponed state examinations.
The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for 12 districts for August 2. Additionally, five dams, including Moozhiyar, Kallarkutty, and Erattayar, have reached critical capacity, prompting a red alert for these facilities.
