The Tamil Nadu government has issued an order promoting 700 assistant engineers within the state electricity board to the rank of assistant executive engineers. The promotion applies to engineers who joined the board in 2012.
The electricity board has officially announced the mass promotion, noting that this is a significant number of staff to be elevated simultaneously. The newly promoted engineers have been directed to assume their new responsibilities with immediate effect.
