Member of the Legislative Assembly Sindhu has formally requested that reserved constituencies in Tamil Nadu no longer be referred to as 'thani thoguthi' (reserved constituency). Instead, she proposed that they be designated as 'sirappu thoguthi' (special constituency) or 'urimai thoguthi' (rights constituency), emphasizing the significant impact that terminology can have on public perception.
In response to the proposal, the Speaker of the Assembly assured the member that the matter would be brought to the attention of the Chief Minister for appropriate action.
