Minister Vanni Arasu has announced that a special law will be enacted to prevent honor killings. To facilitate this, the government has extended the tenure of the Justice K.N. Basha Committee, which was originally established during the previous DMK administration.
The minister stated that the government intends to expedite the receipt of the committee's recommendations to draft the legislation. This announcement follows allegations from the DMK that 10 honor killings have occurred under the current administration.
