Rescue teams in Nepal successfully pulled two workers alive from the Trishuli 3A tunnel. The men, identified as a mechanical foreman and a mechanical supervisor, were recovered nine days after devastating floods struck the region on August 26.
Army spokesperson Brig. Gen. Raja Ram Basnet and lawmaker Shri Ram Neupane confirmed the rescues as operations continued at the site. Both survivors are currently under medical observation following their extraction from the debris-filled tunnel.
Authorities report that approximately 115 people remain trapped in the Trishuli 3A tunnel, with rescuers expressing hope that others may still be alive. Nationwide, the disaster has claimed at least 1,259 lives, with over 5,000 people still missing across the country.
