Over 57 Million Jan Dhan Accounts Hold Zero Balance

An analysis of data obtained through the Right to Information (RTI) Act has revealed that one-fourth of all Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana bank accounts across India are currently inactive. The report confirms that 57.2 million of these accounts hold a zero balance.

The findings highlight a significant portion of the government's financial inclusion scheme remaining dormant, with millions of account holders maintaining no funds in their designated bank accounts.
