Chennai police have granted permission for the installation of 1,562 Vinayaka idols across the city for the upcoming Vinayaka Chaturthi festival. These idols are scheduled to be taken in processions along designated routes on September 19 and 20.
To ensure public safety, authorities have deployed a security force of 18,000 personnel, comprising 16,500 police officers and 1,500 home guards. The Chennai City Police have issued a stern warning that strict action will be taken against anyone found installing idols without obtaining the necessary official authorization.
