The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has achieved a significant victory in the Rajasthan urban local body elections, securing 4,179 out of 10,244 wards. Following a delimitation exercise that increased the total number of wards, the BJP expanded its influence to 40.8 percent, marking a 5.1 percent increase in its success rate compared to the previous election.
In contrast, the opposition Congress party faced a setback, winning only 3,613 wards. The party's vote share dropped to 35.3 percent from 40.7 percent, representing a decline of 5.4 percent. Meanwhile, independent candidates maintained their presence by winning 2,273 wards.
Among other political groups, the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party secured 63 wards and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) won 38. The Bahujan Samaj Party saw a decline, managing to win only 19 wards.
