Residents of Hosur have expressed support for the state government's recent budget announcement regarding a proposed metro rail project connecting Hosur in Tamil Nadu to Bommasandra in Karnataka. The project is being pursued with the cooperation of the Karnataka government and the central government to establish a cross-border mass rapid transit link.
Local activists and commuters believe the metro will significantly reduce travel time and alleviate heavy traffic congestion on National Highway 44. By providing a reliable, fixed-schedule alternative to road travel, the project aims to benefit thousands of workers who commute daily between the industrial hub of Hosur and the IT sectors in Bengaluru.
Representatives from the Hosur Passengers Association noted that the initiative addresses a long-standing demand from the public. They emphasized that the rail link will serve both existing train passengers and the thousands of individuals who currently rely on buses, cars, and two-wheelers for their daily cross-border commute.
