Former Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that certain individuals attempted to mislead Gen Z during the recent protests surrounding the NEET paper leak. Speaking at GM University in Bhubaneswar, Pradhan emphasized that his ministerial position was not his priority and noted that he had personally offered his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi prior to stepping down on July 25.
Addressing separate protests by BJD activists, Pradhan dismissed criticism from former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and asserted his commitment to the state. He maintained that he has consistently worked to uphold the reputation of Odisha throughout his twelve-year tenure as a Union Minister.
In response, BJD leader Rohit Pujari rejected Pradhan's claims, arguing that the former minister faced public backlash due to the government's handling of the student demonstrations. Pujari further alleged that the BJP's policies regarding the examination process were the primary cause of the controversy.
