Hundreds of BPSC aspirants marched from Gandhi Maidan toward the residence of Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday to protest against alleged examination irregularities and paper leaks. The demonstrators breached police barricades, prompting authorities to deploy water cannons and conduct a lathicharge to disperse the crowd. Several protesters were detained as the march continued despite the police intervention.
Student leaders stated that while recent discussions with government officials were positive, they remain committed to their agitation until they can meet directly with the Chief Minister or the Education Minister. The protesters are specifically demanding the cancellation of the 70th BPSC examination and the implementation of a single-exam format. A group of farmers also joined the demonstration, leading to the deployment of the CRPF at the site.
In response to the ongoing unrest, the Bihar government announced the launch of a monthly 'Vidyarthi Sahyog Shivir' to address student grievances. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary stated that these camps will be held at educational institutions on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Additionally, the government has introduced an online portal and a dedicated helpline to allow students to register and track their complaints.
